About Drew

I’m a Computer Information Systems student at Southern Wesleyan who enjoys using technology to solve real problems, especially through software development, data management, and system improvement.

Competing in DII cross country and track has built my discipline, consistency, and resilience. Serving as a Residential Assistant at SWU and BaylorTIP strengthened my leadership and communication skills.

My Christian faith and growing up in a foster and adoptive family taught me empathy, integrity, and the importance of serving others. These values shape both my character and work ethic.

I’m looking for opportunities in software development, IT operations, or data systems where I can contribute, grow, and work with teams that value honesty, hard work, and meaningful impact.

Faith & Ethics

Christian Ethics in Technology

My approach to ethics starts with my faith. I believe every person is made in the image of God, which means the systems I help build should protect people, not use them. That applies to how data is handled, how decisions are made, and how technology is used in real life.

In practical terms, that means being honest about what systems can and can’t do, protecting personal information, and refusing shortcuts that might compromise integrity. I want my work in technology to reflect Christ-like character: truthfulness, humility, and care for the most vulnerable users.

Whether I am designing software, working with data, or troubleshooting systems, I want my choices to be shaped by loving God and loving my neighbor. For me, “good tech” isn’t just about performance or features, but about whether it serves people well and honors God in the process.

23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,”

Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

Ethics Paper from Coursework

In one of my computer classes, I wrote a paper applying Christian principles to modern technology and data use. The paper explores how integrity, stewardship, and love for neighbor should shape decisions around privacy, security, and the impact of software on real people.

I connect biblical truth with practical questions developers and IT professionals face: when to say “no” to a solution that cuts corners, how to handle sensitive information, and why character matters as much as technical skill.

Academics at SWU

I’m studying Computer Information Systems at Southern Wesleyan University, balancing full-time academics with distance running. This section will highlight key courses, projects, and GPA once finalized.

I’m especially focused on software development, networking, and systems, tying what I learn in class directly to real projects like this portfolio and mobile app work.
